The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 79-60 win over Maple River Friday in the second round of the Bethany Lutheran College Holiday Tournament.

The Panthers (7-1 overall, 3-0 Gopher Conference) led by 22 points at halftime and maintained their lead in the second half.

“We shot extremely well,” said NRHEG head coach Pat Churchill. “Oakley Baker had a really good shooting night. He was 10 for 13 with four 3-pointers for 30 points.”

Spencer Tollefson scored 18 points and Trevor Tracy added 14.

Churchill was also happy to see his team bounce back from an 88-65 loss to St. Croix Lutheran in the first round.

“We stubbed our toe a little bit against St. Croix the other night, and to come out and rebound with a pretty solid performance was good to see,” he said.
