MnDOT issues travel advisory

Published 10:43am Thursday, January 16, 2014

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for motorists in several southern Minnesota counties — including Freeborn and Steele counties.

The advisory, sent out at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, asks for motorists to slow down and be aware of changing road conditions.

Icy patches are forming in some open areas, and blowing snow is reducing visibility, it states.

No interstate highways or other road closures are anticipated at this time; however, motorists may encounter brief lane closures if crashes occur.
