The Minnesota Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for motorists in several southern Minnesota counties — including Freeborn and Steele counties.

The advisory, sent out at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, asks for motorists to slow down and be aware of changing road conditions.

Icy patches are forming in some open areas, and blowing snow is reducing visibility, it states.
