Police respond to possible stabbing

Albert Lea police received a report of a possible stabbing at 802 E. 18 1/2 St. at 9:11 p.m. Friday. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Man arrested for DWI

Albert Lea police arrested Nathan Paul Christenson, 57, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, an open bottle violation and possession of a small amount of marijuana after receiving a report of a drunken driver at 12:47 a.m. Saturday at 901 W. Main St.

 

2 arrested for tampering with vehicles

Albert Lea police arrested Derek Anthony Navarro, 21, and Ashley Marie Velarede, 26, for tampering with a motor vehicle at 11:24 p.m. Friday at 720 St. Peter Ave.

Reports stated Navarro was also arrested for theft and possession of synthetic marijuana, and Velarede was arrested for a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

 

Hit-and-run crashes reported

Two hit-and-run crashes were reported at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave., over the weekend. The first was reported at 7 p.m. Friday, according to police. The second was reported at 3:41 p.m. Saturday.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 2410 Y.H. Hanson Ave. at 1:09 a.m. Sunday.

 

Injury crash reported

At least one person was reportedly injured in a motor-vehicle crash at 3:05 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Sykes Street. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Two cited for marijuana, drug paraphernalia

Police cited Jesse Dean Bryand, 19, for drug paraphernalia and a juvenile for drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop at 5:37 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Minnie Maddern St.

 

Man arrested for assault

Albert Lea police arrested Christopher Lee Beer, 21, for domestic assault at 10:17 p.m. Monday at 701 Water St.

 

Attempted break-in reported

Someone reportedly attempted to break into the pop machine at the Trading Post, 80860 110th St., overnight Sunday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. The incident was reported at 8:16 a.m. Monday.

 

Vehicle damaged

The side mirror on a vehicle was reported broken at 9:32 a.m. Friday at 403 E. Sixth St.

 

Man arrested for theft

Albert Lea police arrested Carlos Gonzales Cardoso for theft at 10:47 p.m. Friday at Nelson’s Market Place, 1619 W. Main St.

 

Cellphone stolen

A cellphone was reported stolen from a vehicle at 1360 W. Main St. at 8:49 p.m. Saturday.
