3 arrested for DWI

Authorities arrested Javier Angel Macias for driving while intoxicated and test refusal at 12:44 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Beth Lane and Ross Drive in southern Albert Lea.

Police arrested Cady Mae Baseman, 23, for driving while intoxicated after receiving a report of a drunken driver at 2:27 a.m. Sunday on Bridge Avenue near Security Bank.

Police arrested David James Heikkila, 43, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop at 8:05 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and East Main Street.

 

Suspicious package reported

Albert Lea police received a report at 11:43 a.m. Monday of a suspicious package at the post office, 141 S. Newton Ave. The incident was referred to a postal inspector.

 

2 arrested on warrants

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies arrested Casey Jo Eggum on a Wisconsin warrant at 1:58 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Freeborn County Road 20 south of Freeborn County Road 25.

Police arrested Jose Abel Davila, 28, on a Blue Earth County warrant for felony motor vehicle theft and driving after revocation after a traffic stop at 2:06 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of West Main Street and South Washington Avenue. Also cited was Hector Olmedo, 23, for an open container violation.

 

Newspaper machine broken

A newspaper machine in front of the post office, 141 S. Newton Ave., was reported broken into at 3:18 a.m. Sunday. The lock was broken, and money was taken.

 

Gas taken from church vehicles

Gas was reported taken out of vehicles at Grace Christian Church 501 W. College St., at 7:36 p.m. Sunday.

 

House broken into

A house at 32046 780th Ave., northeast of Clarks Grove, was reported broken into at 4:14 p.m. Friday. The door was left open and items were missed up inside.

 

2 cited for shoplifting

Albert Lea police cited Jessica Ellen Sturm, 30, and Jill Mardelle Register, 33, for shoplifting at 3:20 p.m. Monday at 225 S. Broadway, according to reports.
