ST. PAUL — Minnesota has registered its lowest unemployment rate in seven years after May’s figure was pegged at 4.6 percent.

The Department of Employment and Economic Development reported today that 10,300 jobs were gained last month, help pushing the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate down a notch. The monthly gains mean 45,617 jobs were added in the past year.

The state’s unemployment rate was slightly lower than in April when it was at 4.7 percent.

Still officials said the growth rate in new jobs for Minnesota was slightly slower than the nation’s at large.
