Mayo Clinic awards scholarships to grads

Mayo Clinic Health System awarded four $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in its service area interested in pursuing an education in health care. This scholarship encourages students and gives them the opportunity to achieve their goals. One June Wells Scholarship was awarded to a student pursuing an education in communications.

Health care scholarship recipients include Emily Christensen of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School who is majoring in nursing, Malory Mattson of Alden-Conger High School who is majoring in nursing, Sara Sanderson of Albert Lea High School who is majoring in biology and physical therapy and Sarah Savelkoul of Albert Lea High School who is majoring in nursing.

The June Wells Scholarship recipient is Kendall Ward of Alden-Conger High School who is majoring in communications.

Scholarships were awarded primarily on the basis of leadership, commitment, character and academic ability.
