MINNEAPOLIS — Sophomore forward Gabe Guertler has been granted his release from the Minnesota Gophers hockey program.

Coach Don Lucia announced Guertler’s release Thursday.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native played in 24 games for the Gophers last season. He scored two goals and had three assists.
