Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Edwards of Albert Lea announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Jane Edwards, to Lucas Robert Lacina, son of Robert and Laura Lacina of Brooklyn, Iowa.

The future bride graduated from Allen College with her Bachelor of Science in nursing and went on to get her Master of Science in nursing, specializing in psychiatry. She is employed as a psychiatric nurse practitioner through Pathways Behavioral Services in Waverly, Iowa.

The future groom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, majoring in political science and obtaining a certificate of international affairs and security. He is employed as a youth specialist at Northeast Iowa Juvenile Detention Center.

An Oct. 25, 2014, wedding is planned at the University of Northern Iowa, where the couple first met. The couple will live in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
