Savick got the needed work done

The past two years were the most productive we’ve seen from our state legislature in a very long time. State Rep. Shannon Savick played an important role — largely because she put people ahead of politics and worked together with both sides to get the job done.

Some of the major highlights over the past two years include:

1. Free all-day kindergarten for every child.

Email newsletter signup

2. A two-year college tuition freeze.

3. Bigger property tax refunds for homeowners and renters.

4. The first minimum wage increase in nearly 10 years.

5. More funding for our nursing homes and long-term caregivers and big investments in job creation and economic development.

The result? Minnesota’s economy is one of the strongest in the nation. Is there more work to do? Absolutely, but we are moving in the right direction and can build on that progress.

It’s a breath of fresh air compared to where we found ourselves during the previous decade. I was very frustrated by all of the government shutdowns, political grandstanding and gridlock we experienced under Republican leadership. They did not serve Minnesota well.

The people of District 27A have a clear choice in the upcoming election. I’m voting for Rep. Shannon Savick because of her record of working together with all Minnesotans. Her campaign slogan is “Representation before politics.” And that’s what she does. That’s something I can vote for!
