Woman injured in southbound I-35 rollover

A woman was injured Thursday morning on Interstate 35 after a semi reportedly rear-ended a sports utility vehicle towing another vehicle two miles north of Albert Lea.

Donna K. Manley, 64, of Richards Landing, Ontario, Canada, was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Donna Manley was a passenger of a 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer driven by Edward Manley, 29, also of Richards Landing. The TrailBlazer was towing a second TrailBlazer.

According to the State Patrol, the TrailBlazers and a 2003 Freightliner semi, driven by Gary L. Smith, 59, of Jackson, Neb., were headed southbound on I-35 near milepost 14 when the semi rear-ended the towed Trailblazer.

The TrailBlazers entered the median ditch and rolled.

Smith and Edward Manley were not injured, along with a second passenger in the Trailblazer, Arthur R. Manley, 72, of Long Beach, Calif.

The crash took place at 11:43 a.m.

No alcohol was detected. It was unknown whether Donna Manley was wearing a seat belt.

In other news, a man was injured in a crash Sunday on U.S. Highway 14 near Owatonna.

John Hammond, 24, of Mesa, Ariz., sustained serious injuries when he was driving his 2012 Hyundai Accent westbound on U.S. 14 when it collided with an eastbound a 2005 Peterbuilt semi driven by Trey B. Walz of Sartell. The Minnesota State Patrol report didn’t indicate who was at fault for the collision.
