The NRHEG fall clay target team finished the season with the top marksman in the conference and a second-place team finish in the conference standings.

Frank Altrichter’s average of 23.7 out of 25 earned him the top individual spot in Conference 6 of Class A.

NRHEG coach Dan Sorum said the conference has more than 180 competitors, and Altrichter was fifth in the state out of 1,500.

Other Panthers in the conference’s top 25 were Sam Bartz, fourth; Collin Christenson, fifth; Tyler Raimann, seventh; Zach Eustice, ninth; Colton Hagen, 15th; Dylan Mosher, 17th; and Tory Christenson, 25th. Sorum said Bartz, Collin and Raimann had averages in the state’s top 100.

Team members attend NRHEG, Albert Lea and Waseca schools. Sorum said the team is managed through the community education department at NRHEG.

Participants need to be 12 years old and have their gun safety certification to compete in the coed sport.

The team will return for the spring league in April.
