be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Military honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Arlyn Charles “Bud” was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, the son of Herman and Emma (Giese) Fuchs. Bud grew up on a farm near Freeborn until his family moved into Wells. Bud worked in building construction until he entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954.

On August 30, 1958, he was united in marriage to Barbara Eastman at Wells United Methodist Church. To their union four daughters were born. He worked for the city of Wells for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. Bud was a member of the Wells American Legion Post and the Wells VFW Post. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Bud loved woodworking, fishing, sports and playing cards. But most of all, he loved being surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family.

Bud is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Lori (Richard) Hueper of Minnesota Lake and Gayle (Brian) Redig, Julie Mattick and Jill (Josh) Rollenhagen, all of Wells; 10 grandchildren, Danielle Hueper, Mikel Hueper, Darrin (Katie) Hueper, Tyler (Danielle) Schultz, Alex (Sam) Schultz, Rachel Mattick (Joe), Kelsey (Brandon) Bair, Nathan Mattick, Samantha Rollenhagen and Peyton Rollenhagen; six great-grandchildren, Layker, Tyler, Payton, Jase, Rowan, Lexa and Maci, due to be born in March; siblings Alvin (Skimmer) Fuchs of Wells, Alberta “Bert” Brandt of Albert Lea and Elaine Hartshorn of Wells; mother-in-law, Bernadine Eastman, of Wells; brother-in-law, Brian (LeAnn) Eastman, of Winnebago; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Alfred, Arnold “Butch”, Armand (Army), Esther Goracke and Ardella Mosser; and father-in-law, Armund Eastman.
