The Albert Lea High School concert choir students are getting prepared for their trip to Hawaii in late March. The community support has been great so far, and the fundraising will soon wind up with a spaghetti supper and silent auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Marian Hall in St. Theodore’s Church. A full spaghetti meal will be served for $7 per person with children 5 and under free. There will be impromptu musical performances throughout the evening and a silent auction with several items. Tickets may be purchased in advance from choir students or at the door the night of the event.

Donations from alumni and local organizations are making the trip possible for 75 students and about 30 of their family members, according to a press release. Performances are planned for the Bowfin Memorial, St. Andrew’s Cathedral Wednesday noon-time concert, University of Hawaii clinic, choral exchange at Kapolei High School, Palm Sunday services at Calvary by the Sea Lutheran Church, Ala Moana Mall and Helemano Plantation. Students will also see the island at Diamond Head, snorkel at Hanauma Bay, Kualoa Ranch, Pali Lookout, and participate in a full Hawaiian luau. Donations are still being accepted to help those students still needing funding.
