After 28 years of providing care to patients in the Albert Lea area, Edward Shaman, M.D., in family medicine is retiring Saturday. Shaman served on the medical executive committee and previously served as the Freeborn County medical examiner.

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin thanks Shaman for his years of service to all patients and wishes him well in his future endeavors, according to a press release.

To honor Shaman, a public retirement reception will be  from 2 to 4 p.m. today in Albert Lea’s cafeteria, located on the lower level of the hospital.
