Man injured after collision with plow

HARTLAND — A 40-year-old man was injured Wednesday morning after he reportedly rear-ended a snowplow on Minnesota Highway 13 near Hartland.

The 2013 International snowplow, driven by David J. Srp, 60, of Glenville, was south on Highway 13 making a left turn onto 305th Street at 7:32 a.m. when a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix attempted to pass and collided with the plow truck, hitting the left rear portion of the truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the car, Jeremy A. Peterson, 40, of Hartland, was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Srp was not injured.

The roadway was wet at the time of the crash after light snowfall overnight.

No alcohol was detected, and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The snowplow belonged to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

 

Man injured in rollover

A 29-year-old Cottage Grove man was injured after his vehicle reportedly left the roadway and rolled on Interstate 35 in Steele County.

Matthew L. Mohrlant was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

He was driving a 2007 Nissan Frontier.

The State Patrol is investigating.
