As a group, they read the FLCW purpose statement.

Neva Mathison introduced the St. Andrew Sisters from Austin who provided a delightful program. In addition to singing beautifully, they added humor in their mission to praise the Lord in song and dance.

Circle roll call was taken by Selma Engebretson who was assisted by Marge LaFrance. Circle No. 12 earned first place with 67 percent in attendance. Circle No. 4 came in second place.

The secretary’s report was approved as printed with a motion by Sandy Narverud and seconded by Bonnie Trampel. Treasurer Virginia Hermanson gave a report.

Corresponding secretary Trampel received thank yous from the radio fund, Mt. Carmel and the Salvation Army. She also received brochures from Feed My Starving Children, Bibles for the World and Plymouth Playhouse advertising “Church Basement Ladies” which runs from June 18 to Nov. 15. Copies of the magazine Gather and The Messenger, Mt. Carmel’s newsletter, will be available in the church library. A Shine brochure announced the fundraising event for Mt. Carmel on Apr. 9 at the church featuring talent from Mt. Carmel.

There was no old business.

Ge Montei announced that the tickets for the annual tea are $3.

The annual salad luncheon will be June 12. Diane Damerow asked that each circle donate four large salads, each serving 15 people and one dozen deviled eggs (24 halves). The price of the luncheon has been raised to $7.

The group sang “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” during the offering after which Damerow gave the offering prayer.

Fredin thanked the following: ushers, Marlene Behle and Carol Olson; greeters, Marilyn Chafee, Phyllis Hamborg and Marge Moine; and Hostess Chairwoman Julia Tonder and her committee Julie Gilbertson, LaFrance, Barb Ochs, Dawn Rozinka and Orlene Woodside.

Co-chairs Fredin and Bev Sutton and their committee served two funerals in March.

April 19 was new member orientation; today is New Member Sunday; and at 1:15 p.m. May 13 in Bethany Hall will be the annual tea. Guests are welcome.

The meeting was closed by praying the Lord’s Prayer and singing the Table Prayer.
