CLARKS GROVE — Even after more than 30 years, business keeps expanding for Thompson Sanitation.

The Clarks Grove-based company, owned by Clarks Grove native Frank Thompson, offers residential garbage removal services, commercial garbage and recycling services for businesses, as well as one-time use roll-off boxes typically used for construction sites.

According to Office Manager Barb Reed, Thompson Sanitation has expanded into other counties and towns the past few years, two of them being Wells and Austin.

The company runs services to Freeborn, Mower, Steele and Faribault counties. They work with towns such as Hollandale, Conger, Ellendale, Geneva, Alden, Freeborn, Hayward, Emmons and, of course, Clarks Grove, along with Albert Lea. It also has contracts with a number of those towns, and operates commercial recycling services in Blooming Prairie.

“We’re always growing,” said Reed. “We continue to grow as opportunities present themselves.”

Reed said the company is grateful for its strong support in Albert Lea, and that its employees enjoy being involved with the local communities. She stressed that the company is a local business that spends its money locally, and that it appreciates all customers’ business.

“It’s all about providing growth, health and opportunities for young people,” said Reed. “It’s important to support the local community.”
