John Monson, chair of the AgStar Fund Board of Trustees, and Melanie Olson, AgStar fund specialist, present a $10,000 donation to support The Hormel Institute and the University of Minnesota’s breast cancer research. Associate Director Ann M. Bode accepted the donation on behalf of the Institute. The gift was part of this year’s Paint the Town Pink initiative that raised more than $189,000 for breast cancer research at The Hormel Institute. AgStar committed $5,000 toward the third annual Plunging for Pink polar plunge and $5,000 toward the second annual Smashing Cancer demolition derby — both PTTP events — earlier this year. With the gift, the AgStar Fund for Rural America — the corporate-giving program of AgStar Financial Services — has donated $50,000 since 2011 to support cancer research at The Hormel Institute. - Provided
