Weekend Planner: Elvis tribute coming to Marion Ross theater

The Elvis Show, a musical tribute to Elvis Presley, will be on Saturday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

The show, a tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, begins at 7:30 p.m. and features the DC Drifters as the backup band for the show.

The performer is reportedly one of the best Elvis impersonators around, according to organizers.

Friday

Dylan Kaercher’s Theatre Camp is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. at Bridge Community Church.

The Alden American Legion will host a burger feed from 5 to 8 p.m at the Legion. Cost is $5 for burger or pork burger with all the fixings and chips.

Freeborn County Relay for Life starts at 6 p.m. at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.

“Wizard of Oz” by Dylan Kaercher’s Theatre Camp starts at 7 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things show will be at the Albert Lea Art Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Heart of the Heartland show will be at the Freeborn County Arts Initiative from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Pelican Breeze II will host a pizza cruise at 6 p.m. at Frank Hall Park. Reservations can be made by calling 507-383-7273. Adult tickets cost $20 and children’s tickets cost $10.

 

Saturday

Relay for Life closing ceremonies will be at 6 a.m. at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.

The Albert Lea Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon at Northbridge Mall. Homemade breads, baked goods, pickles, honey and more items will be sold.

Ruby’s Pantry will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Albert Lea Assembly of God. If you donate $20, you will go home with an abundance of food.

The Minnesota American Legion Riders 2015 Legacy Run will stop in Albert Lea at 11 a.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion. The riders collect funds for the Legacy Scholarship Fund, which raised more than $87,000 last year.

Forest City High School is hosting the North Iowa Festival of Brass at 5:30 p.m. at the Forest City High School football field.

Sunday

The Pelican Breeze II cruise will leave at 1:30 p.m. from Frank Hall Park. Cost is $10. Ten people need to be present in order for the cruise to go out. Call 507-383-7273 to reserve your spot.

The Eagles will host a pancake, egg, sausage and biscuit breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eagles Club. Cost is $7.
