House damaged by fire

A house reportedly started on fire at 3:23 a.m. today at 116 S. Maple St. in Conger. An electrical outlet outside the house had reportedly been sparking and smoking and small flames were reportedly on the siding. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Vehicle almost sideswipes another

Albert Lea police received a report of a vehicle going 90 mph at 11:28 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Front Street and U.S. Highway 69 in Albert Lea. The vehicle reportedly almost sideswiped another vehicle and went southbound from Freeborn County Road 29 on Minnesota Highway 13. The vehicle was reported as being smaller and darker in color.

 

Two juveniles cited

Two juveniles were cited after they reportedly slapped and threw items at staff as well as destroyed the inside of the Hayward Group Home. The incident was reported at 9:29 p.m. Thursday. One juvenile was cited for disorderly conduct and two counts of fifth-degree assault and the other was cited for disorderly conduct. No injuries were reported.

 

Thefts reported

A theft of an approximately 95- to 100-gallon tank of gas was reported at 11:18 a.m. Thursday at 1900 Sorenson Road in Albert Lea. A barrel pump, four cans of brake cleaner and three bags of rags were also reported stolen.

A yellow Trek 4300 model mountain bike was reported stolen at 9:44 a.m. Thursday from 1025 Plainview Lane in Albert Lea. The bike reportedly had a gray seat and was last seen on Wednesday in the front yard. The bike was valued at $700.

A Huffy green bike was reported stolen at 5:44 p.m. Thursday from the Salvation Army in Albert Lea.

Three hundred dollars were reported stolen from a vehicle at 7:46 p.m. Thursday at 1428 Academy Ave. in Albert Lea. The vehicle was reportedly left unlocked and open throughout the day.
