Albert Lea (7-5-4, 5-3-3 Big Nine) had 12 shots on goal to Winona’s 25, and one corner kick to Winona’s five.

Of the 11 teams in Section 2A, the top five teams get a first-round bye. Albert Lea and Worthington were in a close battle for the fifth spot in the section standings.

Worthington (8-4-1, 6-3-1 Big South) beat Southwest Christian 6-0 on Thursday. Since the Trojans previously had a slight edge in the standings, Albert Lea will most likely pick up the No. 6 seed and host the No. 11 seed on Monday.
