Wells man dies on duck hunting trip near Bricelyn

BRICELYN — A Wells man died on a duck hunting trip Saturday with friends north of Bricelyn.

Authorities pulled Daniel Lee Drugg, 54, from the water in the Walnut Lake area, and he was transported by Bricelyn Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found Drugg while responding to a report of an unresponsive male at 6:35 am. in the water in the Walnut Lake area, located off of 540th Avenue and 115th Street, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Gormley said an autopsy was performed, and the results haven’t been released to the Sheriff’s Office. No foul play was suspected.

Drugg’s obituary lists an apparent heart attack as the cause of his death.
