National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Miller said it’s not unusual to see colder temperatures once snow is on the ground. A wintry storm dumped 18 inches of snow on Beloit, nearly 7 inches on Milwaukee and over 4 inches on Madison.

In Minneapolis, the temperature bottomed out at 17 degrees just before 7 a.m. Sunday. The same was the low in Albert Lea Sunday.

Ross Carlyon of the National Weather Service in Chanhassen said after the warm start to November, the sudden temperature change makes it seem “really cold.”
