Patricia McColley

Patricia died Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, surrounded by her family while under the care of hospice at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community after a courageous battle with cancer.

Patricia McColley was born March 30, 1946, in Noblesville, Indiana, the daughter of Edwin Earl and Helen Irene (Smith) Whitcomb. She grew up in Sheridan, Indiana, where she graduated from high school. Pat later moved to Iowa where she was closer to her grandparents. In 1975 Pat met her husband, Lowell McColley, and they were married on Dec. 17, 1976. Together they made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa. They enjoyed going camping and to car shows together. Pat had a wonderful personality and was able to make a friendship instantly with anyone she met. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and going to casinos. Pat worked as a school bus monitor for children with disabilities, making many lasting relationships with the kids. After Pat and Lowell retired in 2011, they moved back to Lowell’s hometown of Alden.
