The kindergarten through third-grade students at St. Casimir’s School in Wells would like to thank the local fire departments for offering them the opportunity to participate in the annual Fire Safety Coloring Contest, according to a press release.

To enter the contest, the students were asked to draw a picture of this year’s safety theme “Hear the beep where you sleep! Every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm.”

The St. Casimir students winning fire trucks — complete with a working siren — were:  Alivia Bruegger, kindergarten; Clairissa Schimek, first grade; Michael Oldham, second grade; and Emma Johnson, third grade.
