Kelsea Heintzman,

senior, Lake Mills

Heintzman led the Bulldogs to the area’s highest winning percentage and a 40-2 record with 863 assists, which was 298 more than anyone else in the Tribune’s seven-team coverage area. She produced 48 ace serves and landed 336 of 356 serves for a 0.944 serving efficiency. As a junior, Heintzman was a Class 2A All-State selection with 1,165 assists, which was the most in Class 2A and the second-most in any class in Iowa.

Erika Bute,

freshman, Alden-Conger

Being an underclassman didn’t stop Bute — a third-year starter and two-time Valley All-Conference selection — from finishing in the area’s top four in three statistical categories. She led the area with 51 ace serves and did so in 26 matches. Bute’s 439 assists were third in the area, and her 369 digs tied teammate Madison Erickson for fourth in the area.

Lauren Allis,

senior, United South Central

Allis was a force at the net with 270 kills and 70 blocks. Both totals were second in the area. She led the Rebels to eight wins in 27 matches, including a 3-0 sweep in the first round of the Section 2A tournament at Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial.

Madison Shifflett,

senior, Lake Mills

Shifflett and Bute were the only players to finish in the area’s top five in three statistical categories. Shifflett posted 77 blocks to lead the area. Her 235 kills were third in the area, and her 44 ace serves were fourth.

Julia Deyak,

junior, Albert Lea

Deyak was a potent threat at the net for the Tigers with a team-high 224 kills through 25 matches, which was the second-fewest in the area. Only Glenville-Emmons played fewer matches. Deyak showed a well-rounded game with 37 ace serves, which tied Lake Mills’ Jewell Gasteiger for fifth in the area, and 30 blocks, which were 12th in the area.

Second Team

Camryn Keyeski,

junior, Albert Lea

Keyeski was in the area’s top 10 in four statistical categories: her 383 digs were second in the area; 214 assists were ninth; 159 kills, 10th; and she was in a three-way tie for 10th in the area with United South Central’s Leah Johnson and Lake Mills’ Breanna Smith with 29 ace serves.

Abby Reyerson,

junior, Alden-Conger

Reyerson was consistent on the back row for the Knights and produced 395 digs, the most in the area. Out of 272 attempts at the service line, Reyerson produced 16 ace serves and had nine errors for a serve efficiency of 96.8 percent.

Lexi Groe,

junior, Lake Mills

Groe was fourth in the area in kills and blocks. She produced 231 kills and was one of three Bulldogs with more than 200. Groe had 55 blocks and was one of six area players to total 50 or more.

Terran Haberman,

junior, Northwood-Kensett

Haberman made a formidable duo at the net with Davidson as middle blockers for the Vikings. Haberman totaled 58 blocks, which was third in the area, to go with 164 kills, which was ninth. She led Northwood-Kensett and was seventh in the area with 34 ace serves.

Cede Byrnes,

senior, Lake Mills

Byrnes was one of five Bulldogs hitters with more than 100 kills. After leading the area with 315 kills last year, she produced 221 kills this season, which was sixth in the area. Byrnes excelled from the service line with 45 ace serves, which was third in the area. She also had 44 blocks, which was ninth in the area, and had 168 digs, which was second on the team.

Aliyah Creger,
