To increased communication between the Shell Rock River Watershed District and the Albert Lea City Council.thumb.up

Discussion came Thursday at a combined meeting between the Albert Lea City Council and Shell Rock River Watershed District that some city councilors think there needs to be increased communication between the two entities — and the public.

The discussion came as the district works to renew its local option sales tax.

We encourage further transparency and updates to the public about projects, and we encourage the public to actively seek out information as well.

Some of these water projects are complicated, and we encourage the watershed leaders to find a way to help the public understand them better.

Hutchison has been a part of numerous projects in Albert Lea, including replacing the Edgewater band shell, installing a second sheet of ice at City Arena, constructing the Fountain Lake Park gazebo and replacing the playground equipment around the city.

Albert Leans are big promoters of parks, and we thank you for all that has been done to strengthen our parks over the years.

Congratulations on your retirement, and best wishes as you move to the Des Moines area.
