LINO LAKES  — Five people are hurt and two under arrest after fighting broke out during a large, informal rodeo in Anoka County.

Lino Lakes police said a fight broke out around 8:15 p.m. Saturday during a party that drew hundreds of people to a rural property along Main Street. Police said the crowd then scattered.

Paramedics treated five people for minor injuries. Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor assault, and the party’s organizer was taken into custody for “facilitating the unlawful assembly.”

Sgt. Mitch DeMars said in a press release that a similar gathering has happened on the property at least once in the past year.

DeMars said the organizer is someone who rents out the space for the rodeo from the property owner.
