The Albert Lea Art Center’s Dorothy Godtland lecture series kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Albert Lea Art Center, 226 W. Clark St. Bonnie Broitzman will speak on “The Art of En Plein-air Painting.”

Broitzman is a native of Albert Lea and enjoys painting Plein-air, especially on location and painting in her studio on Albert Lea Lake.

According to a press release, she loves travel and after years of teaching public school art and watercolor workshops, she records her travel adventures with both pen drawings and watercolor paintings.

A few of the sites she teaches in are Italy, France, Greece and Spain, but she has also painted in New Zealand, Alaska, Ireland, Prague and Guatemala. Her lecture is free and open to the public.
