Judge rules Minnesota teen in school plot case can go home

WASECA  — A judge has ruled that a Minnesota teen who authorities said was planning a school attack two years ago can go home.

Judge Joseph Chase on Wednesday cited expert evaluations concluding that 19-year-old John LaDue of Waseca no longer poses a threat to the community.

The decision allows LaDue to go home to live with his parents next Wednesday.

According to a press release, psychological testing found that LaDue had suffered from depression and no longer does.

In October, LaDue was sentenced to up to 10 years of probation after pleading guilty to possessing an explosive device.
