Morris Pedersen, 97, Alden

Funeral services for Morris Pedersen, age 97, formerly of Alden, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Interment will be in the Carlston Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the curch. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Morris died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Home.

Morris Pedersen was born Aug. 14, 1907, to Niels and Katrina (Jensen-Dahl) Pedersen in Carlston Township. He attended rural schools. On July 9, 1966, Morris was united in marriage to Eleanor Schnoor at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He farmed much of his life and was very talented at carpentry. Morris was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Elks, and the Danish Brotherhood for over 50 years. He loved fishing and enjoyed traveling in his later years.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Albert Lea; daughter, Carol and her husband Bill Zell of Bloomington; grandchildren: Lisa and her husband Tom Hallbeck of

Zimmerman, and Laura and her husband Nathan Bang of Lakeville; greatgrandchildren: Taylor and Noah Hallbeck, and Jeremiah, Samuel and Erica Bang; sister, Ethel and her husband Manly Bakken of Alden; and several nieces and nephews.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Christian, Arthur, Walter and Otto; sisters: Alma Thompson and Eva Bakken; grandson, Howard Pieper; and greatgranddaughter, Hannah Bang.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
