A-C concludes its volleyball season
Published Friday, October 28, 2005
The Alden-Conger Knights' season drew to a close with a loss in the section game against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. The Bulldogs quickly discarded the Knights in three games 25-18, 25-14, 25-16.
A-C never really got into the match as Knight head coach Jon Jahnke pointed at the long MEA weekend as one of the possible reasons for his teams poor play.
“We could have played with them.” said Jahnke, “We were just off tonight, we haven't played a real match for a week and a half.”
Kara Behr lead the Knights in kills with six, Emily Appel and Vanessa Politz both had five kills. Kristin Faugstad had three aces while Behr and Politz each added one ace.
“We kind of went out with a whimper, we didn't even have a lot of stats,” said Jahnke.
The senior-heavy Knights now face a rebuilding year as six of their starters will graduate in the upcoming spring. “There are some spots to be won.” said Jahnke.
The Knights will have a very strong freshman team next season as well as several prospects from this seasons B-squad.
“It should be an interesting season.” said Jahnke.
