Panthers win at Bethany Tourney
Published Sunday, December 31, 2006
The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ basketball team broke a modest two-game losing streak by winning its first game at the Bethany Holiday Tournament against New Ulm Cathedral, 57-47 Thursday.
The Panthers were led by Brad Kruckeberg who had 15 points while Brian Warnke added 10.
The offense wasn’t pretty for either team in the first half as NRHEG held a 19-10 halftime lead.
NRHEG did hit 20 of 30 free throw attempts and was able to keep its advantage in the second half.
“We got out to an early lead and played very well defensivley in the first half,” Panther head coach Matt Eppen said. “In the second half we did a much better job of playing with a lead.”
