Vikings struggle on course

NORTHWOOD, Iowa — The Northwood-Kensett boys’ golf team finished fourth in a quadrangular while the girls were third in a triangular.
The boys shot a 201 but SCMT won the meet with a 172 while Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock was second with a 177.
Trey Gonzales led N-K with a round of 48, Jayson Olson added a 49 and Ben Read, Cody Fredericks and Alex Hanson all shot 52. Trent Midtgaard rounded out the varsity with a 53.
SCMT had the two low rounds of the day with Jordan Mondt and Sam Collins each firing a 40 at Ridge Stone Golf Course.
The N-K girls shot a 232 finishing behind SCMT’s 199 and RRMR’s 230.
Kate Hartman led the Vikings with a 46 to take medalist honors, Lauren Hartman added a 56, Jordan Kenison shot 58 and Carly Johnson carded a 72.
SCMT was led by Kristine Weiland and Kayla Nalan who both rounds of 48.
