Alden-Conger runs into stiff competition at Windom

Published Monday, December 31, 2007

WINDOM — Alden-Conger dropped a pair of girls’ basketball games over the weekend at the Windom tournament.

On Friday, the Knights fell to host Windom 74-44.

Haley Johnson and Krista Mathiason led the team with 10 points each.

“We started very slowly and we couldn’t rebound,” coach Gary Newman said.

It was more of the same for the Knights on Saturday as they lost to Fairmont 75-39.

Abby Christensen scored 10 points and had eight rebounds.

“It was a very good experience for us,” Newman said. “I hope we learned some things.”
