Tiger hockey team earns academic recognition

The Albert Lea girls’ hockey team had four players named to the Big Nine All-Conference team.
The team was also recognized as Section 1A Academic Champions.
Jenna Christensen was named as a forward while Sarah Jensen and Katie Nelson were defensive picks. Madi Passingham was an honorable mention selection.
Christensen was also selected as an honorable mention all-state performer by the Associated Press led the team with 26 goals and 23 assists while centering the top line.
Jensen and Nelson gave Albert Lea a strong back line and combined for 12 goals and 13 assists
on the season. Passingham was second on the team in scoring with 34 points.
The Tigers’ team awards are as follows:
MVP - Sarah Jensen
Most Improved - Sophia Jepson
Hardest Worker - Lauren Klick
Hobey Baker Award - Sarah Jensen
