Tigers test West

MANKATO — The Albert Lea girls’ tennis team played Mankato West for the second time this season and after losing 7-0 in the first go around the Tigers were close to a win falling 4-3 Thursday.
Hali Hendrickson picked up the win at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-7 (7-5) beating a girl who beaten her earlier in the year.
Taylor Nelson also won at No. 2 6-1, 6-4, Erika Blickenderfer lost at No. 3 5-7, 1-6 and Michelle Hartmann was downed 1-6, 3-6.
Kelli Hanson and Sarah Wenum won at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-4 while Kellsie Dieser and Alarie Maras lost 0-6, 1-6 and Mikaela Pierson and Amy Bohlen were downed 6-7 (3-7), 1-6.
Winning JV matches for the Tigers were: Samantha Peterson, Kate Buringa, Caitlin Anderson, Chelsea Petersen, Alissa Allison, Ashley Gilbertson, Lucy Villagomez and Letisia Rodriguez.
Albert Lea plays Winona at home today.
