USC finishes off regular season with win

WASECA — The 10th-ranked United South Central girls’ tennis team played its final match before the conference tournament Thursday and came away 5-2 winners over Waseca.
Andrea Allis was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles for the Rebels while Carolyn Schmitz won 6-2, 6-2. Jordan Anderson won with ease at No. 3 6-1, 6-3 and Taylor Allis fell 0-6, 3-6.
In doubles action, the top team of Jessica Stensrud and Molly Yokiel won 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) while Emma Stenzel and Kellie Robbins were convincing winners at No. 2 6-1, 6-2. The No. 3 team of Amanda Huper and Haleigh Korn lost 0-6, 2-6.
The Rebels are in LeCenter Saturday where they are looking for their sixth consecutive Gopher Conference crown.
