DNR sponsors shooting range at fair

Published Friday, August 29, 2008

The Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring an interactive shooting range for youth and adults at the DNR building during the Minnesota State Fair.

The phenomenal response from kids and adults during the 2007 State Fair brought it back for another year, said Capt Mike Hammer, education coordinator for the DNR Division of Enforcement,

“Kids 54 inches or taller are invited to take their best shot at one of four LaserShot shooting simulations systems while also learning basic rules for safe firearms handling,” Hammer said. “It’s a fun, safe, educational event that’s become a family favorite at the State Fair.

It’s open daily, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside theater room of DNR building at the State Fair.
