Here are local and area highlights in history for Dec. 1, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1906 — A Tribune article was based on the 75 years of history for Local 567, American Federation of Musicians.
1976 — The grand opening for the two Kwik Trip stores in Albert Lea had as one of its special deals a hot dog and Coke or coffee for just 19 cents.
1956 — Edmund F. Conn of Alden spent $430 during his successful election campaign to represent the area in the state Legislature.
