Arrival expected next week

Published Thursday, July 3, 2008

Minnesota National Guard soldiers of D Company, 2nd Battalion, 135 Infantry Regiment based at the Albert Lea Armory are expected to arrive home next week from a year-long duty with the international force keeping the peace in Kosovo. According to Freeborn County Sheriff Mark Harig and other local officials arranging the return, the soldiers are expected between the dates of July 10 and 14.

The Minnesota National Guard's Web site also mentions how several units are expected shortly after the Independence Day weekend.

The Albert Lea unit had a farewell ceremony on July 16 last year, with Gov. Tim Pawlenty and U.S. Rep. Tim Walz speaking.
