Blood donors awarded pins

The Freeborn County Red Cross Bloodmobile held a three-day drive June 18 to 20 and collected 238 units. There were nine first-time donors.

The following pins were awarded.

One gallon: Lois Ahern and Jeff Poplow, both of Albert Lea.

Two gallons: Jerry Heidemann of Hartland and Gary C. Hoyne of Albert Lea.

Four gallons: Randy Bangert of Alden, John Malon of Hayward and Evelyn Nielsen of Albert Lea.

Five gallons: Charles Dunbar Jr. of Emmons.

Six gallons: Connie Hoyne of Albert Lea.

Seven gallons: Sandy Stephens of Albert Lea.

Eight gallons: Wayne Hedalen and Jan Birkhofer, both of Albert Lea.

Eleven gallons: Vickie Storlie of Clarks Grove.

Twelve gallons: Scott Schroader and Jeanine Dahl, both of Albert Lea.

Fourteen gallons: Irvin Zenk and Dennis Whelan of Albert Lea and Lettie Ann Anderson of Clarks Grove.

Seventeen gallons: Orville Goskeson of Albert Lea.

Bloodmobile organizers thank all blood donors, volunteers, Kwik Trip for the orange juice, Quiznos for the cookies and the Albert Lea Fire Department for help in setting up and taking down the bloodmobile equipment.

The next bloodmobile will be Aug. 27, 28 and 29 at Crossroads Church in Albert Lea. Blood is in short supply.
