Shoplifting reported

A shoplifting incident was reported at 2510 Bridge Ave. at 7:45 p.m. Monday, according to police reports.

Wreck reported

A rollover injury wreck was reported on County Road 25 northeast of Hayward at 7:27 p.m. Monday, according to reports. Injuries were unknown as of press time.

Police warn to check out organizations before donating

Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the police department has received complaints from citizens who received a phone call from someone calling themselves the “Minnesota Police Officers Alliance.” This group is seeking donations. The local police department has no information about this group and is not familiar with it, he said. It does not benefit local officers, and he urged citizens to make donations to reputable organizations of their choosing. Always investigate an organization before donating.
