Rebecca Gisel from Alliant Energy presented a $400 Community Grant check to Karen Sorenson for Greenwings of the Freeborn County Ducks Unlimited.  Greenwings is the “children’s version” of Ducks Unlimited. The money received from Alliant Energy will go towards the Greenwing Picnic at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds on Aug. 16. This education event will get kids and parents alike acquainted with the importance of preserving and protecting Minnesota’s wetlands.

Rebecca Gisel from Alliant Energy presented a $500 Hometown Challenge Grant check to Freeborn County Sheriff Mark Harig. Harig aggressively promoted the fundraising projects to assist in relocating a new emergency tower near Hartland. The matching funds will assist in purchasing the antenna for HAM radio.
