Dodge Charger added to State Patrol fleet
Published Friday, June 13, 2008
The Minnesota State Patrol in Rochester held a news conference Thursday to introduce a new enforcement vehicle — an unmarked 2008 Dodge Charger. Troopers will use the automobile to address seat belt use.
“Each year around 200 unbelted motorists are killed in traffic crashes on Minnesota roads, another 500-plus motorists not wearing seat belts are seriously injured,” according to the State Patrol.

Do we as Minnesotan's really want our tax dollars used by the Minnesota State Patrol to try sneekily to track down people for not wearing seat beats?
Why not go back to the time a few Governor's (sorry I do not remember the Governor name or year) back when the Policy of Patrol Cars were all marked. Is it not their duty to be seen and showing their presence will get most people to slow down and buckle up.
I would surmise that this was a great enforcement tool in that people saw the Patrol Cars and thus changed their driving behavior. That I believe would save more lives and injuries than sneeking around in unmarked Patrol Cars trying to catching people doing something illegal.
