Here are local and area highlights in history for Nov. 26, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1992 — The Forest City, Iowa, Festival of Trees, featuring 27 decorated Christmas trees, would be open the following day in the Atrium of Waldorf College.

1982 — The Albert Lea High School hockey team, coached by Roy Nystrom, would be playing its first game of the season in New Ulm. This was Nystrom’s 10th year as coach.

1942 — The Albert Lea High School basketball team defeated the Ellendale High School team with a score of 35-13. The “B” squad won their preliminary game with a score of 12-8.
