Zion Amazing Seniors to hear about mission trip

The public is welcome to join Amazing Seniors of Zion Lutheran Church, Thursday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. at the church, 924 Bridge Ave., Albert Lea.

The program will be presented by Carla Tavis Sykora, a 1979 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She is a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Minneapolis. Her church took a mission trip to check out he mission project it sponsored in Ethiopia.

Sykora retired from American Express after 22 years. She volunteers through church, school and community organizations, is a board member for Resources for the Enrichment of African Lives (REAL).

She is married and has two daughters.

Refreshments will be served.
