A.L. Salvation Army asks for bell ringers
Published Saturday, October 11, 2008
The Albert Lea Salvation Army is in full swing to prepare for its upcoming Christmas campaign. This year’s Christmas goal is $137,820 with an estimated $56,000 coming directly from donations to the red kettles.
It is for this reason the Salvation Army is beginning its plea for bell ringers. For the first time volunteers can register to ring online at www.thesalarmy.org/albertlea. This service is new to Freeborn County and has been implemented to make it easier to help meet the unmet need.
This year’s Christmas chairman will be Chris Mishler. He is vice president of Citizens State Bank of Glenville and Twin Lakes. He is a devoted member of Harmony Junction Barbershop Chorus and sits on the advisory board for the Salvation Army in Albert Lea.
For more information, call Capt. Jim Brickson at 373-5710 or Mishler at 448-3981.
