Published Tuesday, October 28, 2008
Brian Davis, the Republican Party candidate for the 1st Congressional District of Minnesota, will be in Albert Lea on Wednesday at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.
Davis, a physician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will speak at 7 p.m. at the Fairlane Building. Organizers say he will spell out his plans to lower medical costs.
Davis, 50, has a degree in nuclear engineer from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He a master’s and doctorate degree in mechanical engineering with biomedical specialization from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has a doctorate of medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.
He and his wife, Lori, have been married for 15 years. They have four children.
He became the treasurer of the Olmsted County Republican Party in 2007, when he showed initial interest in running for Congress. He won the GOP endorsement over state Sen. Dick Day of Owatonna at the district convention in Albert Lea in March. Davis then defeated Day in the September primary to win the nomination.
Davis faces incumbent U.S. Rep. Tim Walz, DFL-Mankato, in the Nov. 4 election.
Questions about the event Wednesday can be directed to Pat Waters, 377-1113.

Excuse me, but Davis defeated State Rep. Randy Demmer in the endorsement, not Senator Day. Looks like Davis is stretching the truth again.

Can someone please explain to me what exactly Norm Coleman has done for Minnesotans? Besides fishing trips to Alaska with now convicted felon Ted Stevens.
Norm recently said, "We have real problems out there, real challenges. In the end it's about who can work out there and who can solve it."
So just what exactly has Norm done for Minnesota as a Senator?? I have asked this question repeatedly and so far I haven't gotten one clear answer.
I don't think any of us asked for 80% increases in our health care premiums, or 20% decreases in our home values, or 6.2% unemployment in Minnesota, shipping 100's of thousands of jobs overseas, or $700 billion of our tax paying dollars going to Iraq, or another $700 billion dollars of our tax paying dollars going to Wall Street.
No I am certainly not going to reward Norm Coleman for this horrendous performance. Al has some good ideas for changing the course of this country and getting Minnesota back on track to bringing more jobs to our state and stopping the redistribution of wealth FROM the middle class into the pockets of the top 5%.

What does Coleman have to do with this story? I would have to say Davis's education is impresive. He has an up hill fight against Waltz. This is a Dem year but divided government is better than one party rule. So you can have Waltz I will take Coleman and McCain. So will America.
