Davis supports Bush’s tax cuts
Published Friday, October 31, 2008
I am very concerned about Dr. Brian Davis’ support for a new 23 percent national sales tax.
Dr. Davis says that he would not support tax cuts for middle-class families but should keep President Bush’s tax cuts for millionaires. And now he thinks a new 23 percent national sales tax is a good idea. Well, it’s not. It’s a terrible idea. Southern Minnesotans simply can’t afford to pay a new 23 percent sales tax on everything we buy. Sales taxes hit the poor and middle class harder than the wealthy, because the poor and middle class spend a greater percentage of their income on necessities.
Tim Walz has been working in Congress to get tax cuts for southern Minnesota’s middle class families. That’s why I’m supporting Tim Walz for Congress on Tuesday.
